Mirella Greenberg is a university admissions professional who specializes in guiding both international and domestic students on their paths towards higher education. After graduating from Macalester College, where she studied Psychology and Educational Studies and focused on Human Rights & Humanitarianism, she accepted a Fulbright grant to Madrid, Spain. In Madrid, she led a Model United Nations program and assisted in bilingual classrooms for high school students.

In her most recent role managing a team of admissions counselors and a cohort of international students, she helped students actualize their dreams by overseeing the entire application process. Mirella is committed to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. She recognizes the transformative power of education in fostering global connections and believes in the inherent value of providing educational opportunities to all. In her new role, she eagerly anticipates the chance to engage with prospective students from diverse backgrounds, representing the innovative and unique opportunities Cooper offers.

“My grandparents met at The Cooper Union and graduated together in the class of 1948. They singlehandedly attributed their professional successes to their education and connections fostered by the school. Their home was adorned with Peter Cooper memorabilia, and I was raised with a similar respect and adoration of the school’s founder. I often heard those in their lives speak highly of the progressive values behind this innovative school—including a radical commitment to diversity and a vision for fair access to free education—and it feels like a natural progression that I will now continue to promote and represent these cherished values.” – Mirella Greenberg

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.

  • “My feelings, my desires, my hopes, embrace humanity throughout the world,” Peter Cooper proclaimed in a speech in 1853. He looked forward to a time when, “knowledge shall cover the earth as waters cover the great deep.”

  • From its beginnings, Cooper Union was a unique institution, dedicated to founder Peter Cooper's proposition that education is the key not only to personal prosperity but to civic virtue and harmony.

  • Peter Cooper wanted his graduates to acquire the technical mastery and entrepreneurial skills, enrich their intellects and spark their creativity, and develop a sense of social justice that would translate into action.
