HOGS and RICEİ? What is that all about!?
My name is Paul and I am the President and founder of Hogs and Rice Motorcycle Clubİ. We are an all-brands, all-gender, social riding club. We pride ourselves in being family oriented. Our members' skills range from beginner to advanced riders. Hogs and Riceİ had started out as a few close friends and family riding together. It has evolved into a motorcycle club fueled by the amount of people who are now realizing their appreciation for motorcycling, and how stimulating it can be to ride with others who share their feelings.
Hogs and Riceİ began in my mother's garage in the winter of 1998/99 where five bikes were squeezed in together from the cold. That was also the winter that my Harley was delivered. We would joke around at the assortment of bikes carefully arranged in that little single-car garage; my Harley Twin-Cam, two Intruders, my old Kawasaki, and my mom's V-Twin Virago 250.
By the time the riding season arrived, many of my friends were also getting bikes and renewing their passion for riding. Elyse, my spousal equivalent, learned to ride my little Kawasaki 440LTD and started leading us all over the county. We soon became weary of asking, So, where do you want to ride to today?. So Elyse began planning interesting scenic routes for all to enjoy. We had been putting some serious riding time on our machines by that point.
We began to notice just how many people were interested in riding with a mixed group of bikes and individuals; and we were encouraged by the response we were getting from other riders and clubs. They kept urging us to organize and become our own club. With that realization, Hogs and Rice Motorcycle Clubİ was born. In 2000, we had our first meeting, not to mention a great riding season.
In January 2001, Hogs and Rice MCİ became an AMA Social Charter based in Rockland County, NY. We ride the great roads of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut on our day trips.
Every Sunday (providing the roads are dry) Hogs and Rice MCİ can be found on an organized ride, with less formal rides on frequent Friday evenings and Saturdays.
