These robots were developed during the 2000 Capstone Senior Mechanical Design course at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.  Dajung (Mother) is on the left and Junior (Baby) is on the right.  Dajung is a voice responsive robot that wanders around avoiding obstacles while Junior tries to follow his Mommy.  Both robots feature several infrared proximity detectors allowing them to avoid obstacles.  Shaft encoders allow them to track their own movements.  They have servo controlled arms that can wave and offer handshakes.  Each has facial expressions which express the robots' "emotional state" by lighting a series of LED's.  Junior homes in on his Mommy by using infrared intensity sensors to detect the bright light bulb in back of Dajung.  These robots are controlled by Handy Board robot controllers.
