Lunar eclipse! Some new faces on the roof. Also took a break from the moon with the Pleiadies/Seven Sisters.

Solar viewing. Skies ok but the sun's disk is featureless. Presumably the storms have rotated out of view.

Halloween 2003, Friday afternoon

Solar viewing. Sun is hidden by a clouds; for several minutes the cloud coverage thinned out, allowing a glimpse of extraordinarily large sunspots.

October 30, 2003, Thursday night

Finally! The first clear night for the club. Mars, the Pleiadies/Seven Sisters, the Double Cluster, Alberio (double star), and the Orion Nebula. Failed to locate the Ring Nebula, maybe washed out in the haze at the horizon.
