Sports Update

Soccer Team

With their Bruce Wayne mansion, ocean views, and half naked drummer on a cliff, Webb Institute is a perennial rival. Unfortunately they did not offer as much competition as they have in the past. Babak Sarmud (3CE) put in a hat trick while a talented freshman art student named Roland had his second goal of the season. Running Team

The Running Club is back again for the 2002-2003 school year. This year's new Running Team is bursting with talent. They have lots of potential "as long as [they] stick to their training schedules", says art school senior Guiseppe Filippone. Among the team members is Matt Soja, who won a Division Three race for Cooper in last year's conference. He is expected to be among the team's greatest assets this season. Among the many events the team will participate in this semester, the Cooper Mile and the St. John's Invitational will be the biggest. The team hopes to attract a big cheering section for meets.
