About Us
The Cooper Union is a highly acclaimed college in lower Manhattan that awards a full-tuition scholarship to all engineering, art, and architecture students. This is a great opportunity for students of all academic disciplines to come together with the goal of creating the Formula SAE racing car and ensuring the success of the Cooper Motorsports Team. The members of the team are highly motivated and have the skills to design and construct the car. The budget constraints of a full tuition scholarship school, however, limit the funding and resources available, but provide a more challenging and rewarding experience.

The Cooper Motorsports Team as returned form successful showings at FSAE East in Virginia, and Formula SAE in Michigan. Our entry, "The Bowery Bomber," is Cooper Union's second ever formula-style racecar, which was designed, analyzed, fabricated and raced solely by the students in only nine months.

Consolidated Edison, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Dean of Engineering, the Vice President's office, and many proud Cooper Union alumni have helped our program become so successful.

We are happy to report that the Cooper Union FSAE team was able to compete in every event this year and that we finished 14 positions higher than we did last year. Of particular importance was that we were the first team to successfully pass the technical safety inspection and were working hard to help other teams, like our friends at Columbia, to get through the preliminary judging phases as well.

Our team is proud to represent the Cooper Union and to bring recognition to the resourcefulness, creativity, and technical skill of all its students.
