On Saturday, Sept 12, we entered into a nearby SCCA Autocross at the Nassau Coliseum. We ran the car for over 6 hours and gained valuable driver experience and had a great time. Below is a video from that event.

On June 14, 2009, Cooper Motorsports was on display at the World Science Festival held in nearby Washington Square Park in New York City. This festival is a tribute to imagination, ingenuity and inventiveness, and "takes science out of the laboratory and into the streets." Our display drew a lot of attention, especially from kids wanting to sit in the car. We explained the challenges we faced and experiences we had with their parents and other people that took interest, including few race fans and alum. It was a great day and hope to do it again next year.

The Cooper Motorsports Team has returned from a successful showing at Formula SAE at the Michigan International Speedway. Our entry is Cooper Union's third ever formula-style racecar, which was designed, analyzed, fabricated and raced solely by the students in only nine months.

Consolidated Edison, Sciame, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Dean of Engineering, the Vice President's office, and many proud Cooper Union alumni, especially Mary Lynch, have helped our program become so successful.

We are happy to report that the Cooper Union FSAE team was able to compete and score in every event this year and that we finished 37th overall out of about 120 teams, 38 positions higher than our previous best. We were one of 33 teams to scored in the endurance, an intense event which tests speed and reliability of the teams' car.

We are planning to continue working on this car and test it throughout the summer and next year. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank all of our sponsors without with none of this would be possible.

It has been a very busy month for us. Many systems are complete including steering, braking, suspension, engine and drivetrain. We are working hard on the final touches for these systems, but also on the carbon fiber, and carbon-kevlar mix bodywork, undertray, and close-out panels. The carbon-fiber, variable intake has had significant progress in the past week. Pictures of details will be up within a day or so.
One of the other very exciting components on our car that we have finished putting together is the all titanium, CNC tube bent, equal length exhaust. Scotia Technology has done a superb job in providing quality work very quickly, and their contribution has greatly increased the performance of our car as well as rekindling our excitement in this project during a very busy time.

We have partnered with Scotia Technology, a tube bending company, to bend the tubing for our exhaust. We had a lot of difficulty finding a tube bender that would provide quality work and at a reasonable cost. Not only is Scotia a pleasure to work with, but they have gladly offered a discount to make their services affordable to us.
