Attention Cooper Union students:
Now you can submit your student application to the IEEE
over the web!!
Instructions:
- Go to the Online Student Application.
- Select The Cooper Union (Hint: It's listed
under "T") from the list of colleges, and then click the New
Application button.
Note: If you are already a member of IEEE, DO NOT use this form to renew your membership.
You will receive a membership renewal packet in the mail around the begining of October.
- You will then be shown the complete application form. Fill it out
just as you would fill out the paper application.
- First is the "Personal Data" section (ie. your name, address, etc..)
- Then comes the stuff about school. Most of it is already filled out, just don't forget to enter your Expected Graduation Date.
- After that, is the recruiting section. If you feel someone
did a good job in getting you to become a member, this is the
place to reward them. Just enter their name and IEEE number
into the spaces (eg. Joseph Nahmias, 40140494), and they will
receive the credit they deserve.
- Finally comes the society membership sections. If you are interested in any of the societies within the IEEE (for the indicated additional charge), just click on the names of the societies that you wish to join.
- That's it! Your form will be checked to see that you didn't miss
anything important, and then you will be presented with a summary of
your subscriptions (societies, plus IEEE dues). You can then submit your
application for approval and it will go the our Branch Counselor
(Prof. Fred Fontaine) for
evalutation. In addition, you will be given a reference number with
which you can
track the progress
of your application.
- Payment. Once your application is approved, you then need to pay.
This can be done using a credit card via a 1-800 number, or you can
mail your payment to the IEEE Operations Center along with a copy of
your submission receipt.
