Welcome to our links page!
Below you will find links to the National AIChE homepage, as well as a link to The American Chemical Society (ACS). Cooper Union's homepage is also included. There are also links for MSDS information, as well as other useful sites for obtaining various chemical and thermodynamic data, chemical engineering-centered references, periodic tables and unit conversion sheets, and even some professors' websites. The cartoons scattered throughout this site were created by the artist Nick D. Kim. You can view more of his work at

The Cooper Union Visit our school's homepage to take a virtual tour of Cooper or find links to various departments. Cooper Union Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Cooper Union's Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department webpages include faculty listings, Master's theses, course listings, and announcements. American Institute of Chemical Engineers National Chapter of AIChE The American Chemistry Society National Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Cooper Union Student Chapter of ACS Professors' WebsitesProf. A. NewmarkProf. R. Stock's ChemE Lab Website MSDS SearchesCornell UniversityCornell University has a searchable database of MSDS sheets for about 250,000 chemicals. You can search by name or formula. Be warned--it takes a while to run a search, so you may want to use a faster computer. Sigma-Aldrich Sigma-Aldrich also has a searchable database of MSDS sheets for every chemical that they carry. The only hassle is that you have to register to use the site, but it is free. The advantage is that you'll be hard-pressed to search for a chemical that Aldrich does NOT carry. If you need more obscure MSDS sheets, this is the way to go. Data SearchesNIST Chemistry WebBookThe National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Chemistry WebBook includes thermochemical data for organic and inorganic compounds, reaction thermochemistry data, IR, UV/Vis and mass spectra, electronic and vibrational spectra, spectroscopic data for diatomic molecules, ion energetics data, and thermophysical property data. A VERY useful site. Chemfinder Chemfinder searches for physical properties from name, formula, or CAS number. Chemfinder provides a chemical structure along with various physical properties (e.g. melting point, density, etc.) and a long list of links which provide additional infor mation. Chemical Engineering ReferencesThermophysical Properties of Fluid Systems(link obtained from the AIChE student tools site) A part of the NIST database, this site offers an easy-to-use interface to determine: Density, Cp, Enthalpy, Internal energy, Viscosity, Joule-Thomson coefficient, Specific volume, Cv, Entropy, Speed of Sound, Thermal conductivity, and Surface tension (saturation curve only) Saturated Steam Information More straightforward than the above website if all you are looking for is saturated steam data. Graph Paper Generator If you need to prepare graph paper for exams/hw, this website will help you customize your own style of graph paper to suit your needs. You can even specify paper sizes and line width/color. It also has log and polar plot paper! Another Graph Paper Generator An alternative site for generating graph paper Periodic Tables and Conversion SheetsPeriodic Table at Los Alamos National LaboratoryPeriodic Table at the University of British Columbia WebElements Periodic Table Online Conversion Science Made Simple, Inc. The site allows you to enter a value and then choose the units to which you would like to convert. There are no lists of conversions; it is all done for you. |
