Kappa Phi Chapter - The Cooper Union

Who Are You Guys And Why Are You Here?

Zeta Psi is unlike most organizations at The Cooper Union in that the it's function is unique for every one of our members. Overall, we are interested in supplementing the technical education Cooper Union provides with opportunities to advance ourselves in the other aspects of life. We are guided by article 2 of our constitution, which = states:

"The primary purpose of the fraternity shall be to aid and encourage its student members to achieve that development of, and that capacity for, human relationships which are commensurate with the highest aims and purposes of education and training at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art; and, generally, the fraternity shall form a lifelong bond of brotherhood, devoted to the fulfillment of the ideals expressed in the ritual and to the fellowship of its members."

So basically, we're here because even though the education that you receive in the classroom provides you with the tools necessary to succeed, they can only take you so far. In order to truly be successful in the world today, it is imperative that one have the organizational skills necessary to be a leader and know how to deal with other people. The only way that one can acquire these skills is by actually going out and being a leader. We provide our members with the opportunity to perfect these skills by organizing various social events with large groups of people in attendance. We also provide members with the chance to interact with people from around the continent and the services to maintain these friendships beyond graduation.

As a member of Zeta Psi, you can reap the benefits of being a part of an international organization in that you are a part of a network of people who can be contacted at any time in any context. Whether you're traveling afar, looking for a job, or trying to contact a lost friend, Zeta Psi provides you with the means to succeed.
