Molly Tambor is a doctoral candidate in History at Columbia University, specializing in women's history, gender studies, and political history in the 19th and 20th centuries with a particular focus on Italy. She has taught at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Columbia University, and Barnard College. She studied in Italy at the University of Florence and was a Rome Prize fellow at the American Academy of Rome. She holds an A.B. and M.A. from Smith College in Italian Studies, and a M.A. and M.Phil in Modern Western European History from Columbia. Her chapter on the Legge Merlin debates on deregulating prostitution in Italy will be published in Women in Italy, 1946-1960, forthcoming from Palgrave.
