MICHELLE HOBART Michelle Hobart is a medievalist. She received her laurea in medieval history from the University of Siena, Italy, an M.A. in medieval architecture from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and a Ph.D in medieval architecture from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. She worked on six excavations in Italy and was the medievalist for the excavation of Cosa, Italy, sponsored by the American Academy in Rome (1990-1997). Her current project is the excavation of the medieval site of Capalbiaccio (Grosseto). Her publications address religious architecture, early medieval urban planning, settlement patterns in Tuscany and diagnostic pottery. A chapter on Sardinian church architecture is forthcoming in the text Advances in Methods in Medieval Mediterranean History and Archaeology (ed. Schryver), Brill Academic Publishers. | BACK | |
