JEAN EVANS
Assistant Professor

Jean Evans is currently an Assistant Curator in the Department of Ancient Near Eastern Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the Fall of 2005, she received her Ph.D. in art history and archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts at NYU. She participates in excavations at Tell Mozan, ancient Urkesh, in northeast Syria. Her curatorial work at the Met has included the 2003 special, Art of the First Cities, and she is currently working on a special exhibition for 2008 entitled Beyond Babylon which will focus on eastern Mediterranean art of the second millennium B.C.
