The goal of research instruction is to equip students with the skills
to readily locate, evaluate and utilize information so that they may work
independently, efficiently and confidently in any library research environment. Instruction includes searching techniques for the Online Catalog (BobCat) , which includes the holdings of Cooper Union, most NYU libraries, and the New School University libraries. It also covers various reference resources and article indexes the Library provides, whether electronic or in print, as well as appropriate general Internet resources, search engines, and specialized databases. Tips on critical evaluation of sources and citation style may also be included. The Library encourages you to work closely with the librarian who will be presenting the lecture, so that the instruction will be tailored to the specific needs of the individual class. |
