Research The Cooper Union Research Foundation (CURF), established in 1976 as a not-for-profit corporation, serves as the primary research unit of the School of Engineering. By encouraging and supporting research, the foundation augments the educational opportunities for students, enhances professional development of faculty and provides services to the community through its research and development efforts. Participation in research activities by faculty and students is essential to the vitality of our educational programs. In attempting to meet this objective, CURF plays an important role for faculty and students having research talent who wish to pursue sponsored research individually or in concert with other faculty and students. Projects undertaken by CURF are externally funded. Faculty serve as project directors, assisted by other faculty members, outside consultants and undergraduate and graduate students of The Cooper Union. CURF maintains its own Web site at www.cooper.edu/curf/. For further information on CURF and its projects, contact the foundation by telephone at (212) 353-4291 or by fax at (212) 353-4341. In addition, faculty engage in a number of independent research projects, which are described in their respective departmental Web sites. |
