Mission

To develop and graduate engineering professionals; to promote student learning and understanding of science and engineering fundamentals and to guide and encourage the application of this knowledge to the ethical, professional practice of chemical engineering; to undertake this mission in an environment that is responsive to new technologies and that encourages life-long learning and research.


Program Objectives

  1. To promote student learning and understanding of the fundamentals of science and engineering, and the use of these fundamentals in the application of chemical engineering.
  2. To develop an understanding and awareness within students about the professional and ethical application of their learning and knowledge.
  3. To develop within students an understanding of, and a positive approach to, life-long learning of new technologies and relevant issues in the professional field.
  4. To prepare students to transition easily into their industrial and professional careers, and quickly become successful in that role.
  5. To provide background, support, and preparation for those students who plan to pursue graduate studies at Cooper Union and/or other institutions.
  6. To provide the appropriate background to enable students to undertake research at both an undergraduate and graduate level.
