The Senior Laboratory underwent a major revision and upgrade under the direction of Professor Zikri Ahmed in the early 1990's. He introduced a number of new experiments illustrating newer chemical engineering technologies and also classical engineering unit operations. Professor Ahmed also prepared the "Chemical Engineering Laboratory Manual" which has been in use now for over 10 years with several revisions.

This web-based manual builds on the foundation laid down by Professor Ahmed. It includes modifications to objectives and instructions for some of the experiments. It also includes some optional experimental approaches which require some student planning. Primarily it takes advantage of the flexibility the internet provides to accommodate changes, graphics, etc.

By basing the manual on a website, the Department of Chemical Engineering may now easily keep the manual current. Students may download a PDF file version of a specific manual entry to view on a browser or print.
