  About the work

The Electronic Chronicles, initiated in 1995 and in perpetual construction on the World Wide Web, print and live performance, are clustered fictive episodes of imaginary worlds. An archaeological expedition team of the far future examines our civilization at the dawn of our electronic age, a time considered prehistoric. These archaeologists discover and interpret our present and our past, revealing what happens to the world in the future. The theme of the artist as detective/archaeologist is threaded throughout the work. The artist, in facing passion head-on, and articulating it in the piece, confronts the problem of a preexisting deconstruction--the ‘ruined’ art, philosophy, technology of the predecessors. The artist not only digs for clues to reconstruct late twentieth-century philosophy, but is also providing commentary about the era’s nature and the cluster of constellations in which the artist lives.”A.W.
