Annette Weintraub proposes a totally fluid representational grammar of the urban scene -- possibly the most contested modernist subject. In her fragmentary images of the city, Weintraub melds historical information, in the form of found and archival architectural images, with contemporary optical and virtually urban views. The resulting visual notations of the built environment are at once jazzy and cinematic.
