Interactive electronic sculpture.

Printed-circuit boards, copper, paint, Plexiglas, electronic parts, and software.

Mark Madel¼s electronic objects demand viewer interaction with themselves and, frequently, with other viewers in order for the works to release information of any kind. Madel crafts his sleek works from printed circuit boards, lcd displays, speakers, infrared sensors, and other electronic components and subcomponents; he imbues his objects with complex sets of responses to viewer inputs, addressing the blurred distinctions between interaction and relationship and between coercion and invitation.
