E. G. Crichton builds sculptures that incorporate audio and visual components triggered by the movements of visitors. In Dark Bride, a bolt of white silk hangs from the ceiling, passes through the platen of a 1940s typewriter, and trails to the floor like the train of a traditional wedding dress. Hidden speakers wash the piece with Crichton’s digitally-edited soundtrack, and a series of 80 computer-manipulated images is projected onto the hanging silk.
