Registration Instructions
The Albert Nerken School of Engineering
Spring 2009
Current First Year Students. ALL first year students will be advised by Professor Lent. All other students are advised by an Academic Advisor selected by their department. IDE B.E. students (other than freshmen)have already been assigned an advisor based on their academic interests. Please consult the departmental notice boards for a list of advisors and watch your mailboxes. Departmental offices can be found in the following locations:
- Civil and Mechanical Engineering - Mrs. Jimenez, Secretary to the departments (256E)
- Electrical Engineering - Ms. Deol, Secretary to the department (455E)
- Chemical Engineering - Ms. Leon, Secretary to the department (555E)
- IDE students must see their assigned advisor(s) or Professor Lent, if they are first year students.

Follow the instructions from the Registrar, but make an appointment to see your advisor for approval of your program and discussions of options as necessary.
Sophomore through Graduate level students. As usual, registration cards must be approved by department (major) advisors. If you do not know who your advisor is, speak to your department's chair or secretary for his or her name. You must have your registration card signed by your advisor; no other signature will be accepted. Make an appointment to see your advisor to discuss your academic program. Obtain course approval at that time. See your advisor early. Don't wait until the last minute!
PLEASE NOTE!
- Attempts at registration for more than 21 credits will be automatically rejected unless they have the expressed approval of Deans Baum or Ben-Avi.
- Overloads by students with cumulative G.P.A.s of less than 3.0 are not permitted without the expressed approval of Deans Baum or Ben-Avi.
- Please refer to the catalog, Page 15 — (General Regulations for additional information regarding registration, attendance, etc.) The section on the Albert Nerken School of Engineering contains all the details of standard programs, academic regulations and scholastic standards. ADD/DROPS will not be accepted before the first day of classes for the Spring 2009 semester.
PHYSICS
Physics 213 — register by major.
Physics 291 — register by major.
IDE students — register for any section of Ph 213 and Ph 291 which fits into your schedule.
Students in any physics lab section may be required to switch sections to even recitation numbers, based on equipment availability.
