How to Apply

To apply for financial aid you must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), School Code #002710. When processed, this form will produce an Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which determines the family reso urces available to meet your educational expenses and your eligibility for financial aid. We also require a copy of your parents prior year Federal Tax Return. If your parents are divorced, you must also submit a copy of your non-custodial parent's prior year Federal Tax Return.

If you are a first time applicant to The Cooper Union and would like to be considered for Cooper Union Grants or Cooper Union Loans, you must also complete a CSS Profile Form, School Code #2097.

These forms are readily available at any high school, college or library. You may also access them on the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov and at www.collegeboard.com.

It is important that you file these forms as soon after January 1st possible.

The deadline for new students is May 1.
This means that all processed, accurate forms and documents must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by this date.
