Douglas Thornhill
Douglas Thornhill is the Laboratory and Technician Manager for the Albert Nerken School of Engineering where he coordinates forty laboratory spaces and a team of ten technicians. He has also been the instructor for ME312, Manufacturing Engineering since 2018. Doug holds a B.S. in Astrophysics from Columbia University where he was an integral part of the optics team for NASA’s NuSTAR orbital x-ray observatory. He has been part of the creation and operation of multiple makerspaces and fabrication labs in New York City. Doug is also devoted to bolstering local small businesses; providing design and fabrication assistance as needed.
Doug has been with the Cooper Union since 2017.
